What to do
First of all enjoy Vieste’s sea, because it’s unique. Several streams make the sea sometimes blue and sometimes green. On the coasts you can see very long sends beaches or cute little bay. In fact we suggest boat trips, so you can reach Tremiti Islands or discover whole south coast with her suggestive sea grottos. Anyway Vieste is not only the sea, it is in the heart of Gargano National Park where you can enjoy yourself for jogging, trekking, cycling through the green paths of “Foresta Umbra”. Others towns very interesting around Vieste are: S.Giovanni Rotondo with Padre Pio’s sanctuary and Monte Sant’Angelo and his famous grotto of Saint Michael the angel. In several farm of the Gargano Park you can find some horsemanship for horse riding. It goes without saying you have to visit the old district of Vieste. See sight are “Chianca Amara a place where Rais Dragut had Christian people beheaded. Federico the 2nd of Svevia loved hunting here and he had a castle built on the top of Vieste. The majestic cathedral that is symbol of Romanic domination. Here you could have a wonderful dinner in one of several typical restaurants. If you love living the night you’ll find discotheques on the beach or watch some movies of “Viete Filmfestival” and see live interviews with show or movie stars.
